These important care and handling instructions will help keep your special flowers safe so that we can preserve them into a treasured floral keepsake! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us!

Arrange in advance to have your flowers delivered to Roses and... as soon after the wedding or special event as possible. At Roses and..., we believe that the fresher the flowers are, the greater the success for preserving them.
Before the delivery, keep the flowers cool, but not frozen. An ice chest works well for transporting. Line the bottom of the chest with ice or ice packs and cover with a plastic bag and towel.
Place the flowers upon the towel, yet do not allow them to become wet or float on the water.

If an ice chest is not possible, place the flowers loosely in a plastic bag and blow air into it. Close the bag tightly and place in a refrigerator. Because bruising causes the flowers to brown, delicate handling can help minimize the damage to the flowers.

***VERY IMPORTANT TO BE CERTAIN TO ASK YOUR FLORIST NOT TO TREAT YOUR BOUQUET WITH
ANTITRANSPIRANT SPRAY. THIS PROHIBITS FREEZE-DRYING.***

Here are some of the most common questions asked about the freeze-drying process.

What is freeze-drying, and why would I want my wedding bouquet or other special flowers to be freeze-dried?

Freeze-drying is the removal of water by means of a vacuum. The result is near perfect preservation.
As for the second part the question, the primary reason to freeze-dry flowers such as a wedding bouquet, is to capture and preserve the beauty and essence of a precious memory...

Is freeze-drying expensive?

Not really. When you consider you will enjoy your freeze-dried treasure for many years to come, freeze-drying becomes extremely affordable. Imagine your wedding bouquet in a beautiful domed frame reminding you of the romance and love expressed on your wedding day. When you consider what you get and for how long, you'll enjoy it. It's one of the best ways to preserve a memory or a special moment in time. Your choice of a custom display case or frame determines the price AFTER the freeze-drying stage is completed.

Do all flowers freeze-dry well?

There are some flowers that freeze-dry better than others. We will be happy to discuss the best botanicals for your keepsake display. There is some color change in freeze-drying (deeper tones and white turns antique white).

How long does this process take?

When your freeze-drying time comes up according to "first in/first out" sequence, approximately three weeks later, they will be done with this step in the process. This does not include time required for post treatment and design. It is a good time to consider selecting your custom display.

How long do freeze-dried flowers last?

Roses and... knows how important your treasure is, so we go to great lengths to ensure that your floral keepsake will last for years to come. No one can promise that they will last forever -- forever is a long time! However, when protected from humidity, sunlight, insects, then freeze-dried botanicals from Roses and... will last for many years. You can count on us to help you select a display piece for your flowers and mementos.

How do I make sure that my wedding bouquet or other flowers are freeze-dried by Roses and... ?

IF POSSIBLE, let us know in advance of the event. It is a good idea to reserve your space well in advance.
